Sumner Academy's 2018-2019 school year is well underway, and we've already conquered several weeks of our first quarter!
These first few weeks have been nothing short of industrious.

Our first event of the year, our Annual School Clean-Up Day, took place on July 21st. Faculty members, parents and students gathered to clean up the school. We started earlier than ever to try and beat the July heat! Volunteers weeded beds, mulched planters, pruned bushes and tried their best to stay cool.

After several hours of hard work, our school grounds were ready for our next event: Drop-In Day.

Drop-In Day was full of joyful reunions, excited meetings and classroom discoveries!

The PTO helped create a festive atmosphere by sponsoring a Kona Ice truck.

The very next day formally began our school year with the first day of school! Our teachers are always so glad to have their students back on campus.

Our Back-To-School Night followed. Parents got a preview of scheduled school happenings. Teachers shared day-to-day classroom activities and expectations.

Once we settled back into a routine, the PTO hosted our Cookout. It's an excellent time for our school community to gather together to share a meal.

The PTO set up a free uniform station organized like a retail store. Uniforms were sorted by size and hung on racks. There were even shopping bags available.
If our first few weeks of school are any indication, we can anticipate another fantastic year at Sumner Academy!
