Thornton Cline, Grammy and Dove Award Nominated Songwriter of the Year (two years in a row), has taught and performed instrumental music for over 25 years. Cline is president and director of Clinetel Music in Hendersonville, Tennessee. He is a private music teacher at Sumner Academy in Gallatin, Tennessee and Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee. He is an avid performer of the violin, piano and guitar. Cline is author of eleven published books: The Amazing Incredible Shrinking Violin (an Amazon children’s best seller), Practice Personalities: What’s Your Type?; Practice Personalities for Adults and Band of Angels, The Amazing Incredible Shrinking Piano (his latest children’s book) and The Contrary (his debut novel of his trilogy). Cline has had over 150 of his original songs recorded by major and independent recording artists, receiving gold and platinum awards for his hit, “Love is the Reason” recorded by Engelbert Humperdinck and Gloria Gaynor on RCA Records. Cline is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University (B.M.E.); University of Illinois (M.S. in Music Education). Thornton and his wife live in Hendersonville, TN.  They have two children:  Alexander and Mollie.  His hobbies include music, writing, Amateur Radio, walking and hiking.
