Library

The Sumner Academy library supports the curriculum with quality resources. Use of the library teaches students to become effective researchers, promotes reading for pleasure, and supports each student's individual pursuit of knowledge for both personal interests and academic needs.

The William Wemyss Library was named in honor of the late Mr. Wemyss of Fairvue Plantation in 1974. The library holds over 8,500 volumes of fiction, non-fiction, resource, bibliography, paperbacks, and current periodicals. In addition to books, there are over 200 videos for the use of teachers and families.
