School Life

Since its beginning in 1973 Sumner Academy has dedicated itself to the academic development of students with an  emphasis on educating the whole child. The two divisions of the school are Lower School, (Pre-K-4th grade), and Middle School, (5th grade-8th grade). Each division provides an excellent, challenging curriculum for the students at each grade level. 

A major strength of the school is a combination of a low student teacher ratio with some of the finest educators in the area. Because of our small size, students and staff members know and appreciate others in the school community. It is the closeness of the community that results in encouragement and the pursuit of excellence for every student.
