Q. What age student does Sumner Academy serve?
A. Sumner Academy enrolls students age 4 through the eighth grade. Students must be 4 years of age before August 1st to enter Pre-Kindergarten program.
Q. What are the school hours?
A. The school day begins at 7:55 a.m. for all Sumner Academy students. Children in Pre-Kindergarten are dismissed at12:30 p.m. Students in Kindergarten are dismissed at 12:30 p.m. the first semester and 2:50 second semester. Students in Pre-K and Kindergarten may stay in extended programs from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Students in grades 1 through 8 are dismissed at 3:05 p.m.. All students may stay in an extended day program until 5:45 p.m. and may be dropped off as early as 7:00 a.m.
Q. How many days each week do Pre-K students attend?
A. Sumner Academy's Pre-Kindergarten program is a five-day program.
Q. Does Sumner Academy provide transportation?
A. Sumner Academy offers bus service to students in Hendersonville, Lebanon, and Mt. Juliet for an additional fee.
Q. Is there a multiple-child discount at Sumner Academy?
A. There is an automatic discount for the third child, one-fourth off the lowest tuition rate.
Q. How many students are in each classroom?
A. In Pre-K and Kindergarten there are usually 10-14 per teacher. In upper grades the ratio is usually 12-16 per teacher.
Q. Does Sumner Academy have a religious affiliation?
A. No, Sumner Academy does not have an affiliation with any religious organization.
Q. How much is tuition?
A. The tuition varies depending on the grade level.

Q. Do Sumner Academy students wear uniforms?
A. Students do not wear uniforms, however there is a unified dress code.
Q. What is a modified 9/2 calendar?
A. Sumner Academy follows a balanced nine week calendar with two week breaks in the fall, winter and spring. The months of June and July are summer holiday.
